Span and support
Material alone does not settle the design of a long shelf. We consider length, expected load and support to avoid a panel that flexes in use.
Specify the face
A panel left on show needs a different surface selection from one hidden inside a unit. The quotation should state the grade and finish to be supplied.
Layered edge
An exposed edge shows the construction. We decide where to show it and where protection is needed.
Water at the junction
Near a sink or basin, sealing and cleaning matter. Plywood alone does not solve constant moisture exposure.
Fixings
Screw and support positions matter on a loaded shelf. We specify them with span and thickness, not just the visible finish.

Not simply because it is plywood. Check the chosen board specification, edge protection and the actual exposure to water.
Can the layers remain visible?＋
Yes, when the selected board and finish give the appearance you want. Ask to see an edge sample; grades differ.
